VETERAN’S DAY PARADE…12/12/12 …11AM-1:30PM

The 2012 edition of the

San Diego Veterans Day Parade

promises to be extra special, with a new route through

San Diego’s Historic Gaslamp District…

Down Pacific Highway

from Grape Street to West Harbor Drive

On Monday, November 12, the streets of the historic Gaslamp District

will come alive when marching bands perform to enthusiastic crowds in the San Diego Veterans Day Parade.

In 2012 the parade is commemorating the

65th anniversary of the breaking of the sound barrier

and

Maj. Gen. Charles (Chuck) Elwood Yeager

is scheduled to be on hand to serve as the grand marshal.

Chuck Yeager was the first pilot to travel faster than the speed of sound,

breaking the sound barrier on October 14, 1947 flying the experimental Bell X-1 at Mach 1

at an altitude of 45,000 ft.

 Always a feeling of

GREAT PRIDE AND EMOTION

when the Veterans of any of the Branches of the Armed Services goes by..

A wonderful time to show support and appreciation

for the injured and elderly who gave so much of themselves.

In 1954 President Eisenhower

called upon all of our citizens to observe November 11th as Veterans Day

and that the entire citizenry will join hands

to insure proper and widespread observance of this day.

Since 1954 every US President, every year, has renewed this call to our citizens.

A DAY OF GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION…

FOR ALL WHO SERVE

MAHALO to all the Veterans

PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE…

THANKS DAD
