REVIEW: Corner Kitchen, Honolulu

On a recent night in Honolulu we were

looking for a casual, fun place with ono food.

 was suggested.

I remembered the location as there had always been a restaurant there.

Location? On the corner of Kapahulu Avenue and Kanaina Street right across the street from Rainbow Drive-In.

For a long time, it was Harpo’s Pizza then it was ZenShu. And for months, it stood empty.

But it’s a tough location. Parking is limited to the street which can be competitive with all the eateries.

The general manager, Patti Sato, a friend of our friends, quickly waved us in and got us a table. It was the soft opening of Corner Kitchen, a fusion-style restaurant that blends local favorites with an Asian twist.

And there was live music! In fact GREAT live Hawaiian Music…

When we were there MOANALA was playing.
