2929 Market St
San Diego, CA 92102

You don’t have to be Buddhist to attend and enjoy this festival.
The music, costumes, food and Taiko drums
all elements for a high energy cultural experience………..

is the annual gathering of the Buddhist community to get-together to remember and honor through music and dance
their deceased relatives and friends.

Truly a unique memorial celebration
and one that has been embraced by the greater community.

The Buddhist Temple’s Bon Odori
is a lively expression of our gratitude to the deceased
for their continuing influence in our lives.

This year’s colorful festival will include three taiko performances

(beginning at 5 pm)………..

and of course,
the folk dancing
which begins
at 6:30pm
and may be enjoyed by all…

Ongoing in the parking lot:
Sales of food, spam musubi, snacks and grilled teriyaki
(bean cakes), Buddhist books and gifts.

Our popular bento is always a sell-out!
Available this year in a smaller size for $10.
Choose chicken, beef or vegetarian.
Other foods will be available.

Japan Relief Aid:

This year’s odori is dedicated to the many hundreds of victims
of Japan’s earthquake/tsunami disaster on March 11.

The 2011 Bon Odori T-shirt commemorates their loss.
100% of the proceeds from this sale will benefit
the Japan Red Cross Society!
