Zin American Bistro Remembering CHEF NICOLAS KLONTZ …7/26/11

Zin American Bistro

198 S Palm Canyon
Palm Springs, CA 92264
(760) 322-6300

Before moving to San Diego in 2010, I enjoyed many meals at “ZIN” since their opening in 2004. Always great seasonal food and a wine list to select from that could make even the fuzziest of guests happy, including a few clients who I won’t mention.

Many restaurants and bars have come and gone in Palm Springs during this time.  ZIN has enjoyed the upturns and survived the downturns of the economy. So much so, they opened ZINI CAFE just down the street.

I had the privilege of meeting Mindy and Chef Nicolas Klontz when ZIN first opened. I watched them work, days, nights, holidays, fund raisers, wine pairings and always pleasant, good natured and putting out an excellent product whatever the venue.

As the life of Chef Klontz is celebrated, Mindy’s strength and fortitude to persevere must also be applauded. Here we have the circle of life. The departure of Chef Klontz and the return of Jordan. Jordan was the newbie server back then (2004) and now, he’s returned from New York as a Sommilier, to be at ZIN again. I may just drive up to have dinner some night soon!

Mindy, Jordan and ZIN family, I wish you continued success, and on July 26, I wish you a day of fond memories and the excitement of future things to come…….

Zin American Bistro is a modern new world version of a traditional French Bistro. Simple food, fresh local ingredients and old world techniques are only some of the secrets for the lasting success of this stylish bistro

Wine Director/Owner Mindy Reed’s wine list features over 200 selections and has won numerous awards including the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 5 consecutive years.

Her list is carefully designed to pair with the menu both in quality and value, making it easy to see why it was Voted Top Wine List in the Desert by Locals. With top wines from around the world, some from well-known producers, others from smaller boutique/family wineries.

MINDY has searched out the best and priced them for you to enjoy…..

Great food and wine, vibrant urban energy, efficient, friendly service in a sophisticated, sexy atmosphere make Zin the place locals and visitors alike have enjoyed since 2005 for one of the Best Fine Dining Values in the Desert.

Zin American Bistro is open Lunch and Dinner 7 days a week.
