REVIEW: Junz Teriyaki & BBQ …in North Park

JUNZ TERIYAKI AND BBQ IN NORTH PARK……………

3010 University Ave

(between 30th & Ray St)
San Diego, CA 92104

(619) 260-8515

JUNZ Teriyaki & BBQ opened in 2008 in North Park.  It is across the street from their sister outlet,  NORTH PARK SUSHI & GRILL.

A variety of  choices, Island style BBQ Chicken or Beef iare popular. and the Teri Rice Bowl  offers a smaller quick complete meal!
Sandwiches, hamburgers,

Island noodles, combo plates…so much to choose from! The pork or chicken katsu are my recommendations. The plate selections come witH mac salad or tossed salad, and rice.

On a cold night or afternoon the Saimin or Udon…soup with noodles meat and veges  …is a great way to warm up.

The interior of the restaurant has an Island style atmosphere, casual,
clean, colorful   beach- like , sort of. …..

Beer, wine, sake and soda are also available.
I love that Junz is in the neighborhood and that they are friendly, and have good prices and good food. It is very much like the Hawaii plate lunch  food. It is a fairly good rendition of what you would find at a Mom and Pop in Hawaii.
 I actually like them far better than L & L….yup I do.
L & L’s  on the mainland are franchaises and don’t have the “Island feel or attitude”  At Junz they come out from behind the counter, ask how your food is, would you like another soda (free refills) and clear your dishes…served on china not in “to go” boxes…

Also available for caterings……great platters
