San Diego is kicking off its very first San Diego Food Truck Festival  featuring over 50 of Southern California’s finest gourmet food trucks. The event will be hosted by the Mobile Food Truck Vendors Association (MFTVA), a professional organization based in San Diego.  The “headliners” will be local San Diego trucks  but the MFTVA will also feature trucks from Los Angeles and Orange County. MFTVA will donate at least 10% of the profits from the event to a local food-based charity.

The following is a list of a few of the more popular Food Trucks Food in San Diego…..

Really great is MIHO GASTROTRUCK…. 

 it uses fresh, local, and thoughtfully-sourced ingredients to create hand-crafted street food that is affordable, The owners truly care about this kind of food, and hope to share that love with their community of followers. Menu items like grass fed bruschetta burger, a free range roasted chicken club with Duroc bacon and Belgian style fries.

Trucks sometimes focus on one cuisine such as Indian,

 INDIA ON WHEELS  TRUCK….from the streets of Mumbai to the streets of San Diego, authentic  and delicious…

or BBQ  like the SUPERQ TRUCK.  It is a relatively new food truck but the best hickory smoked good BBQ All-American BBQ , not to forget what a radical truck they have………

There’s the fusion fare such as Korean-Mexican The KALBIQ TRUCK follows the hot movement of Korean BBQ taco trucks. They’re esteemed for their Bulgogi fries, burritos and $1 taco Tuesdays, or TABE TRUCK  … Asian inspired dishes witha Mexican flair, truly a one of a kind flavor

or a dedication to one entire food category, such as shrimp, or the promise of farm to market organic ingredients like the FOODFARM TRUCK  Tempting sweets? then it’s the SWEET TREATS TRUCK cookies, brownies cupcakes, cheesecakes, tiramisu, chocolate bombs, chocolate covered bacon, strawberries

or try some truly outrageous,decadent combinations like you find at these trucks………..

the CHOP SOOEY TRUCK…The “Pig Rig” has all kinds of things for you to try. Like the slow roasted Carnitas tacos with radish and slaw, or how ‘bout some bacon covered curly tail fires dripping with blue cheese so thick you’ll feel like you “need to take a shower” after you eat them….

DEVILLICIOUS  FOOD TRUCK...Food so Good, It’s Bad. Devilicious is a San Diego based food truck that serves delicious madness for the mind like gourmet sandwiches such as butter-poached lobster grilled cheese, smoked bacon dog with habanero kim chee, mango smoked pork with mango cucumber tzatziki wrap, angus burger in handcrafted foccacia.

 The San Diego Food Truck Festival 2011 takes place on Saturday, May 7 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets to the event are $15 adults, $8 children.

But you don’t have to wiat til then to try them out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
