Peppers Thai Cuisine…Palm Springs

396 N Palm Canyon Dr
Palm Springs, CA 92262

Thai food traditionally blends sweet, sour and hot flavors with exotic spices.  Mary, chef/owner and Burt Akkaraporn, cook for and manage the restaurant. You truly feel like family when you dine there. You can chose your level of “hotness” as well. The recipes used in her kitchen have been passed down through the generations. Mary also grows the herbs used in her cooking on her farm.

You’ll love the appetizers: the deep-fried Crab Meat Rangoon, rolled  wonton wraps filled with cream cheese and plum sauce for dipping.

Also the Fried Tofu with Thai Soy-Sesame sauce.
The Chicken Lemon Grass Sticks with cucumber salad for a lighter refreshing option.

On a cold winter night, the TomYum soup! Excellent.
The Shrimp in the Desert is a must: Fried coconut shrimp featuring a sauce that perfectly balances sweet, hot and sour in one luscious bite. The Roasted Honey Duck is marinated in a sauce that combines fresh garlic, lime juice, bell peppers and tomatoes plus a little pineapple with a touch of sugar for sweetness. A top seller for good reason. Our friends who normally won’t eat duck, eat this.

Many entree items are available on the lunch special menu for $6.95 such as the Pad Thai Noodles. It comes with your choice of Spicy Chicken Noodle Soup or a Green Salad with homemade Peanut Dressing.
Dishes like the Panang, Red Curry with Bamboo Shoots, and Spicy Fried Rice will have you returning for lunch quite often.

and dessert of course……..Sweet Sticky Rice with fresh Mango not too heavy and very shareable to complete the evening!
Peppers Thai Cuisine has been a Palm Springs institution since 1989 when it first opened on Alejo and Palm Canyon. This new location has two dining rooms each with a different decor. Their location may have changed but what hasn’t changed is the hospitality. Peter, the head waiter, is always full of suggestions. He will even plan your whole meal if you don’t know where to start! Outstanding, authentic cuisine at reasonable prices and, of course, Mary and Burt and Peter always make it a wonderful time. Eating there is not just going for a meal, but visiting family.
